The Avent 11oz. size Natural Feeding Bottle with Medium Flow nipple now comes in a pack of three for convenience and added value with new updated bi-lingual packaging. The Avent Natural Feeding Bottle is the only one clinically shown to reduce colic. As baby feeds, the unique skirt on the Avent nipple flexes to allow air into the bottle. Thus prevents any vacuum build up so milk flows continuously. The soft, natural shaped nipple makes it easier to combine breast and bottle feeding and fewer parts makes it easy to clean and assemble. The 11oz. bottle is designed for the older infant that is taking more than 9 ounces at a feeding.

These bottles leak. It doesn't matter how you assemble them, or if you assemble them wet, or dry, or in space, or in a cave. They leak. Terribly. And Avent knows it. They will even replace your leaky bottles if you call 1800 54avent. Of course the ones they replace it with also leak. Buy Dr. Browns instead.

I bought the Avent bottles and the bottle warmer. First, the bottles spill...my son had milk all over his shirt and there was a big mess. I thought it was just that one bottle so I tried another bottle (I had 4 Avent bottles) the same thing happened. I wrote avent informing them of the prooblem...I received no reply except 2 weeks later I received a bottle from Avent in the mail...tried it and it spilled. I gave up and bought its cometitor Dr. Brown...PERFECT, NO SPILLING AND A DRY WELL FED BABY! sECOND, i BOUGHT THE aVENT BOTTLE WARMER...BE CAREFUL THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. The warmer light turns off but the machine is still on! There is no automatic shut off even though the warmer looks like it is off! Be carefull...I threw this out as well.

We've used the Avent system with my daughter since she was three months old. So far, we've liked these bottles and nipples very much. The microwave sterilizer works great, the bottles are nicely shaped and easy for us to hold, and the nipples enable her to go from bottle to breast and back without any trouble.
One note about the sterilizers: Don't bother with the expensive self-contained one. Get the microwave one; it's half the cost and didn't break down like the other one did. However, the microwave sterilizer does NOT work for the 11 oz. bottles.
I've seen several reviews stating that the bottles leak. We've never had a problem with this, and we've used both the 4 oz and the 9 oz bottles. The *only* time we have had leaks is if we haven't tightened the bottle ring enough or haven't pulled the nipple through securely, but that's typical of any bottle/nipple combo. I do recommend that people use the pinch grip device that's included with the Avent sterilizers to pull the nipples through the rings. Because they are silicone, they do tend to be a little slippery when wet, and people may not be pulling them completely through the ring. The pinch grip device eliminates that problem and keeps you from having to handle the sterile nipple.
Our one and only difficulty was with the newborn stage 1 nipples. Granted, our daughter was 2 months premature, so at first, we used some very soft nipples recommended by the NICU along with tubes from my Medela breast pump (which is what they used in the hospital, also). When we first tried to move her to the Avent bottles, she absolutely could not get enough from the stage 1 nipples and she could not drink quickly enough to take the stage 2. She never did manage the stage 1 nipples, but after a couple of weeks, she was more than ready for the stage 2. Now, she's on stage 3 and doing great.
If I had one suggestion for the manufacturers, it would be to make the number on the nipple a contrasting color instead of clear. It would be much easier to make sure you've got the right size on the bottle.
One other thing we've really liked about this product is the way the markings for milliliters versus ounces is set up. We were used to the hospital measurements of milliliters, and since she was a breast milk baby, that's what I continued to use. However, she's gotten big enough to outstrip my supply and needs the occasional bottle of formula. The formula directions, however, call for ounces. Thanks to the setup, we can tell easily how many ounces equal the amount she's eating in milliliters.

My wife chose Avent on recommendation from a friend and we glad we did. These bottles worked perfectly for us. They also fit right into Avent bottle warmer, which we also have.

We have many types of bottles, and these are by far my favorite. They're sturdy, comfortable to hold, baby loves Avent nipples, and best of all... they're easy to clean!! I've never had a problem with these bottles. If you are in the market for new bottles, GET THESE.
